Free Chick-fil-A on July 9

Free Chick-fil-A on July 9

You just need to dress like a cow. Chick-fil-A even provides a link to a quick costume.
Have I ever mentioned how much I love Chick-fil-A? Not only the "fast"food is great, but they are a wonderful company. The service is always good and one time it wasn't so hot, the order taker upgraded my lemonade to a large for the wait without me even saying a word. In Pittsburgh, Robinson, I never saw so many employees having "pleasure" in serving my husband and I.

Let's Talk About Gas~Guest Post

Wednesday, July 07, 2010 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
I'm so excited to share my first Guest Post! Cherry Picker has graced me with this honor.  This saving bonus is something I've contemplated doing myself, but never have. Dolt!  I love how she shares her experience with different gas cans too and finding them at a bargain. Be sure to stop by her blog, Cherry Picker,  and subscribe, especially if you're a NEOhioan.

Without further ado here is her post:

Let's talk about gas

20¢ - 30¢ a gallon fuel perks with just a few purchases in the Giant Eagle ad ?

It has caused me to mentioned this

Purchase a few of these - Make the investment.  I did  and have yet to regret it.

If you have a vehicle that has a 30 gallon gas tank....you can move along.... nothing here you will find interesting in this post.

We drive small fuel efficient cars now that no one ever travels together.  Our gas tanks only hold 12 - 15 gallon when they scream empty.  If I get a 30¢ fuel perk on an empty tank -  if I used one car  - I would save $3.60 with that Fuelperk.  Several years ago I purchased two 5 gallon gas cans.  I have since upgraded to a five gallon can and 4 two and a half gallon cans.  I now go to the gas station and purchase 30 gallons of gas for a savings each time of $9.00, on every 30¢ Fuelperks.

Giant Eagle allows you to pump up to 30 gallons at one time using one vehicle at the discounted price.

What I do is:
  • Save up my fuelperks to a respectable amount - to an amount enough that I can talk the others in my house into saving through transferring.
  • Take a poll on the level of the fuel tanks of those who could be home.  I don't store gas.
  • Then take my cans to my Get-Go on a day when the prices are on the low side.  Have you had one of those days recently where the price changed by 20¢ on a given day?  Yeah me too.
  •  Get your 30 gallons.  I am religious about not getting a drop over thirty.  I pump the cans first then my car.  This is so I can watch how much is in the can on the pump and can shut off at the correct amount and not try to eyeball the can.
  • The trick of transporting gas is a truck with an open bed.  It was easier when we had one but, we recently detrucked ourselves - now it's all in respecting the gas.  One slosh will cause the most devoted car owner into wanting an upgrade immediately. No matter how careful you are, place a tarp or a trash bag under your cans.
  • We transport the gas the minute we get home.  Everyone helps to make it a 5 minute event at the far far end of the drive.  Frankly, I get out of that part and generally take the opportunity to reclaim laundry from the backseats of the cars I never get into.
Still doesn't sound worth the effort?  I will admit that it's an easier job the more fuelperks you have.  Save till you get $1.00 a gallon. An $18.00 savings is more convincing. Even to yourself.   I can't talk anyone into it throughout  December - February weather.  That first fuelperk of the year is always a goodie.  Now that it's lawn mowing season - one does not need to include the kids in the fun and savings.  Two cars and a lawnmower is 30 gallons.

Before you run out to buy cans I want to caution you - Buy one first.  I wish I would have initially purchased all 2 and 1/2 size gallon cans.  That 5 gallon can is heavy and isn't made for putting gas into a sedan. The foreign car designs especially dislike them. I have been able to upgrade my cans by shopping at tag and yard sales.

Giant Eagle~ *Hot* Coupons

Wednesday, July 07, 2010 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
Actually, I don't believe there are any *Hot* Coupons needed for this week.  After glancing at the ad and listening to the chat there isn't a whole lot of Must Have Deals.  I didn't want to leave anyone wondering until I get the scenarios up.

I also checked out the Natural/Organic items, but the coupons needed for those which I believe is Kashi will be booklets found everyso often, at least at my store, right around the endcap of Kashi.
http://www.honesttea.com/products/productimages/lemon_ginger/page.jpg
I do know of one FREE and that is the Honest Tea. There is an IP found by cherrypicker, but it is limited to one coupon/household even though you can print two the wording says otherwise.  It's one of those lovely e-centives. Then again on the Honest Tea website it says print limit three, therefore I would have no problem using three, but I would do those in seperate transactions.

UPDATE! I always have my printer on print preview and it's a good thing because the Honest Tea IP came up saying Print Limit Exceeded Household.  I only printed one last night, Cherry Picker printed two so please be careful and check the print preview box which is under preferences on a Canon Printer.

I know almost 16 yrs ago receiving a cute diaper bag filled with goodies from on the the formula makers even though I planned on nursing. That was at a hospital so this is a great offer I'm thinking for homebirthers as well.

CVS Trip Info on SoBe

Saturday, July 03, 2010 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
Tonight I did some shopping at CVS to spend down my ECB that expired two months ago, yes two months.  I used to shop CVS every week and then I decided to downsize my trips so Rite Aid and Giant Eagle got/get the majority of my business because of the ease, not that CVS is difficult just a little more to figure to get zero oop.

I was able to get this week's and next week's, no ECB deals, tonight.

6 Xtra Detergents $.50 each after $1/1 mq
2 Falsies Maybelline Mascaras $6 each Received $3 ECB
1 Casade $.50/1 after $2/1 Mailer Coupon x 6/30(Upcoming Week)
1Starburst Filler since I was in the hole  $.30
12 YES 12 SoBe!  Says Limit 6 which is 6 deals or 12 total paid $.42 tax after BOGOF IPs(Upcoming Week)

Use $17 ECBs $.72 OOP Received $3 ECB=$14.72 Cost
Not impressive by any means, but I really wanted to just spend the ECBs. Also I really like Maybelline's Colossal Mascara so hoping I love Falsies because those 10 plus Almay in my stash just don't agree with my eyes anymore.

You may notice my Cascade coupon expired. Please know I checked first with my store to use it, plus the register didn't even beep. I'm quite sure they will get reimbursed because of the way coupons are sent into the clearing houses.  So ask the worst that can happen is they say no and the best is yes!

Shout out to a couponer I met at Rite Aid earlier this week and ran into at CVS tonight! Found out we are from the same town, I think. lol I really enjoyed meeting you and your friend!

Cheap Kingsford Charcoal at Lowes

Thursday, July 01, 2010 Posted In , Edit This 0 Comments »
I'm taking Inspiring Oberle Mommy's word for it that this is a great price. It's been over a year since we've bought charcoal. We had a gas grill for many years and then went to charcoal for about 2 before we decided charcoal didn't give us the flavor we remembered from childhood days and two it was costing us a lot with all the cooking out we did. We're back to gas needless to say, but if you're a charcoal person or use charcoal while visiting the lake here's the deal:

Kingsford Charcoal $3.24/1
Shelf: $8.48
Sale: BOGOF
Mq:$1/1 Kingsford Charcoal printable
Math: $8.48-$2=$6.48
*If Lowes refuses you to use two coupons it will be $3.74/1

I have seen this over and over the last several days in my reader, yet I'm always hesistant to post it myself.  Once again I was reflecting my views upon my readers and thinking I wouldn't race to ON for the $1 flip flops or Doorbusters so they won't either.

I realize not everyone is me, thankfully, and decided to let you decide if $1 Flip Flops is worth getting up early, fighting crowds and possibly none that you want are left. Pessimist or Realist is the question. lol

IF you are like me, the Dollar General and Family Dollar often have flips flops for $1 too. Mine will last me the season, but I usually wear tennis shoes. For my daughter that lived in flipflops for a couple of summers she went through a few pairs.

40% Off at Land's End!

Thursday, July 01, 2010 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
http://www.landsend.com/IMAGES/OTHER/062910_summer_II_girls01.jpg
I have purchased swimsuit and trunks from Land's End in the past as well as sandals and tennis shoes and I attest to the quality.

I hardly gave Land's End a glance in the past because of prices, but a couple years ago I was desparately seeking a modest, but not chin to ankle modest, swimsuit for my teenage daughter.  We found one! I then started looking at the sales and found a few more items. In fact, I got my younger daughter's sandals from LE this year and last. The thing is when you hit a great sale the prices aren't much more for some items and the quality is there that make it the perfect choice for some items.

Fabulous return policy too!

This is probably my 2nd most favorite mineral foundation from over 20 that I've tried. I may have mentioned this before, but this was my sil's top pick from the samples, Lumiere, Everyday Minerals, Monave and I don't remember the rest, that I gave her to try. Before Herbs of Grace she was a Bare Minerals user.

Onto the sale information:

8grams product 30g jar(large)/$18.50-20%=$14.80

$1.85/g (not including $3.50 shipping)

I didn't realize the high values of these until today. Giant Eagle is available and I don't get to Kroger's very often since its totally in the opposite direction and 45 mins away, but if your store is listed then you'll want to add the eCoupons to your card!  Your Mileage May Vary, YMMV, but I'm able to combined paper coupons with eCoupons!  Just think what a great deals you can score!

Mustard Seed Market Coupons

Thursday, July 01, 2010 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
Did you know Mustard Seed Market has coupons? I didn't, but then I don't live close to MSM which is a crying shame. I see some great deals through my email ad quite often. Have you ever shopped there? What do you think about them? Would you like to see match-ups or the deals posted here?  If so, please let me know and I will share those here.  Also if you know the regular prices of the coupon items I would love to know to share with others that are thinking of going more organic or shopping Mustard Seed Market.

I also discovered MSM&C carries Mambo Seed coupon booklets at the customer service desk!

Mountain Rose Herbs Monthly Specials

I have had wonderful experiences shopping with Mountain Rose Herbs. I don't agree with all their philosophies, but the products are top notch with some of the best prices I've seen, especially the Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. At the beginning of each month MRH runs specials that last the whole month.

Rite Aid Value Video Revamped!

Monday, June 28, 2010 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
Rite-Aid has decided to track the Value Video(VV) coupons. What does this mean?

You can now only use one VV coupon for each product per household

The system will know if you've previously used a specific VV and if you have any multiples of that VV coupon will be refused.

Is there a loophole or gray area like creating separate accounts? Nope! Rite Aid currently states only one account per household.

This information is not rumor, but has been confirmed as true and accurate. Using more than one like VV is now considered fraud.

Ped Egg $3.99!

I have heard good reports from an online friend or two. I have never used one myself because honestly I'm slightly frightened by grating my skin. I know this is done with pedicures, but I've never had one of those either. They are $3.99 at Amazon, usually $10 in the stores and a one time pedicure is even more so if you're not wimpy like me this would be a good deal for you.

Giant Eagle 6/24-6/30

Thursday, June 24, 2010 Posted In , Edit This 0 Comments »
This week I'm just sharing a few  of my favorite scenarios.

McCormicks is on sale again with a cat, but it is sooo very difficult to find coupons this time around that you will be paying hard cold cash for these; I hope you stocked up on the Frees and MMs last time.

Olay Bodywash will be free again after OYNhbaO cat, but remember that those cats can't be rolled onto more wash or any other P&G product, so in my world not really a great deal unless your need some other items that you normally would pay a higher price.

Jen at HCW did create a scenario you might find interesting so I'll share it too.

or I just realized you could use your $3 cat on the $.49, after coupon, Right Guard, Henkel Product, to get free Antiperspirant!  $.49 is great on its own unless you play the drugstore games and I know one can tire of those.
Within the last year I've realized while I can make and save more money shopping drugstores and Giant Eagle, Giant Eagle alone offers great savings on items I never dreamed I'd get such a great deal on at their store. So when you're feeling overwhelmed or crunched for time I say Giant Eagle is the place to shop. Maybe that should be another post for another day. lol

Olay Total Effects reported not producing cat at one store, but if it does at yours or is fixed:

2 Olay Total Effects/2 Ivory 4pk $.75/1 plus $3oynHBAo (Mo)

Giant Eagle & Expiring Coupons&Frees

Thursday, June 24, 2010 Posted In , Edit This 0 Comments »
I thought I'd start with this post this morning before the weekly scenarios. There are coupons expiring at the end of this month, 6/30, combined with the rainchecks from previous weeks you won't want to waste.
  • Free Men's Nivea BodyWash                                 ($3 Raincheck -$3 Coupon)
  • Free StayFree                                                             ($2 Raincheck-$2Coupon)

Extended Price Reductions Expiring Soon 7/3 even though coupons good through 9/30. Sadly, Dover store will not give rainchecks on EPRs, not policy, but be sure to check your store, they might as an extra customer service bonus.
    • Free Bumble Bee Tuna                    ($1-$.55/1 q dbld)

This Coupon most likely will produce very inexpensive to free Hellmann's Mayo(Regular, Light or Olive Oil) so you might want to go ahead and trade or purchase a clipper's service for those like I did. It's not often you see this high of a value that can be doubled at all Giant Eagles remembering most are $.50/1 or $1/2 and the last one was $.25/1.

      • Hellmann's Mayo $.75/1 6/23 RP                      ("5" means it will automatically double)

Wonder if there be any great coupons, but I'm not sure it will be worth the crowd that is usually at my local Wal-Mart.

*Update* You can request a free welcome kit on their website without signing up on Facebook!  Found this while checking out the ingredients.

I still need to check the ingredients, but I signed up for my free bottle; my allergies have taken on new life this summer. I've just been popping generic Claritin, but would love if a quick natural product would work instead of getting out the Neti. ;)

Easy Stockup Price Formula for TP!

I am excited to share this Deal Seeking Mom post! I even checked out the formula on previous purchases and it works well. Now I normally try to get TP free with ECB or with RA's $5 from $5/25, but I don't have much of a stockpile using that method with 6 people in the house about 6 months worth is the largest I've had which isn't comforting should something happen.  Beth's method shared by Tara would be beneficial to get that initial stockpile up to par then use my current method to keep it going.  You want me to stop chattering and share the method now don't you? Here it is:

Total SqF/100 (two decimals over)=Stock Up Price
        e.g. 474.5 SqFt/100=$4.745
If the sale price - any coupons makes that pack $4.75 or less it's a good price to stock up!

This formula eliminates the need to figure out exactly what is a "single", "double", "mega" roll because we all know not all singles, or doubles or megas are created equal.
