Well I had some snafus, but nothing that can't be fixed, I hope. lol I also have no pictures as I didn't get home until midnight. We left the house around 6:30. I'm still exhausted and can you believe my quads are killing me! I so need more exercise when a shopping trip causes muscle soreness. Maybe I need to shop more! ;-D

LaurEss! This is my very favorite make up especially the foundations. Along with the foundations, I can recommend the blush and shadows too. I have not try any lip products or finishing powders because I always use pure silk or whip my own concoction for finishing powder.

Foundation First:
Minimalist ~ My favorite It provides a nice buildable coverage that hides pores better than others I've used and blemishes too, yet it doesn't feel heavy. The color selection is vast.
Elemental ~ Barely comes in second This coverage is slightly lighter and just the slightest hint of dewiness. This would be perfect for me in the Summer.

Ethereal~Favorite for Others, but surprisingly I don't like this. (?) This is the heaviest coverage.

Blush: Many beautiful shades to choose! Make sure to click on each category to see all the colors.

Eye Shadow: This eyeshadow just glides across my lids. Gem Lights is my favorite because those are pearlized, but not sparkly or glitterly.

Lauren is a fabulous owner that works beside her husband Chris. Lauren is meticulous when it comes to creating her line and it shows. There is always talk about catalinas vs transactions on HCW so I thought I'd post a guideline from past experience. Some company promotions will produce multiple cats in one transaction and other companies you must do multiple transactions if you want the right amount back. I am also providing links to the company so you know what brands they carry.

*Update P&G has been producing Multiples instead of Singles since about April 2010. I would still recommend doing only a couple on your first transaction to make sure.

Now this one isn't as bad as it normally is because I did have coupons for Sara Lee deli meat and bought white bread on sale at GE instead of bakery bread or my beloved Schwebel's Buns. Normally the deli is what gets me into trouble. We love the Cajun Turkey, priiiiceeey, only buy bologna that is beef and sandwich pepperoni. This adds up fast for a family of six with a teenager, almost a teenager and two little ones that eat like teenagers. The rest of that story is for another time and another shopping trip. (Frightened look)

Usually I just post my great buys, but leave out my splurges. One reason is that my splurges don't help you save money and the other is it is a little embarrassing and to be honest I don't want to know the total that I don't budget.

I've been thinking though it might be beneficial to others seeing my "bad" shopping habits, at Wal-Mart, as well. While I'm often inspired and challenged by other blogs, I also know sometimes I get discouraged when I see how little others spend or all their great opportunities for sales and coupons. I start to feel slighted and discontented that I have the know how, but not all the tools and currently not the determination I would like.

I want you to feel comfortable here and feel free to ask questions or share your experiences. I would like for it, for us, to encourage each other with what we have. As a side benefit, I'm also hoping this may help me see just how much money I waste or if it is worth the comfort and sanity I feel it gives me.

If any of you are like me please leave me a comment and let me know. If you think this is a bad idea please let me know that too. I would love to hear from you.

This CVS was just a quick in and out. I was tired, but had CVS coupons for $2/2 Emblem Nut products expiring so I just used those. I know pathetic, but I really love their nuts and I was too tired to do any other deal last night.

Also Remember with those type of coupons you can only use one per transaction. I thought I'd try both in the same transaction since I didn't read the exception on the coupon, but the register gave the employee fits, so remember 1 like CVS coupon per transaction.

I have to say I probably would have never tried these nuts had it not been for the coupons making the snack size free, but I absolutely love the Gold Emblem Cashews. If I were to shell out money for cashews it would be this brand. From what I remember paying at Wal Mart or Aldi's, I would say CVS has these priced competitively if not better and a better product imho.

CVS Update on IPs

Here is the letter from CVS. Essentially not a whole lot has changed that I can tell except the IP will not be manually overridden. In the past, if the coupon beeped, usually due to exceeding the price of the item it was adjusted down, but it appears that if it beeps it will not be accepted because they would need to manually adjust it.

Our registers are set to allow one CVS coupon and one manufacturer coupon per item. However, the staff should be allowing customers to use Extra Bucks in combination with other CVS coupons since these are coupons you have “earned.”

In addition, they should be allowing the use of one “offer at the register” coupon which would be an open offer of $3 off of $15 or a certain dollar amount off of a specific item. Since our registers are programmed to only accept two coupons (one CVS, one manufacturer) per item if the number of coupons exceed the items purchased a member of management will need to assist the cashier in processing the coupons.

CVS/pharmacy will accept coupons printed from the Internet. They must have a legible barcode that scans at the register. If the coupon does not scan at the register, the cashier should politely inform you that we are unable to accept your coupon. We do not allow manual overrides at the register for coupons printed from the Internet. CVS/pharmacy will not accept offers printed from unauthorized internet postings or reproductions, copies, or facsimiles.

When an item is on sale for buy one, get one free and the customer has a buy one get one free coupon for that same product, the coupon will be accepted and both items will essentially become free (plus any applicable sales tax).

Also, two manufacturer coupons can be used on a buy one get one free purchase as long as two items are scanned at the register. The system logic sees two items scanned and will allow two coupons.

I highly recommend joining VocalPoint. I have received free samples and high value and "free" coupons on quite a regular basis. I and my family totally got turned onto Kashi Soft-Baked cereal bars because of this. Those aren't something I would normally buy because they go so fast around here and are rather pricey, but teamed up with a sale and a great coupon I can do.

The current free item is Olay Pro X and a 28 day supply not some little one use can't tell if you like it or not sample. ;) I'm sure it will have some nice coupons too.

Update: Last week I tried to use a $4/20 CVS coupon and it was a no go after a long discussion. I made a call to customer service and she was to direct the information to the right person. Today, I talked to the "right person" who at the end of the call said I obviously knew more about coupons than she did and she would look for more clarification.

I asked for something in writing that explained the policy and she said they are only given what is posted online. No written explanation of the term "store coupon". So as of now, I've had both local store and customer service tell me that they only except "store coupons" for a specific item that is reimbursed by the manufacturer. You and I both know there is a difference and how the process works for the most part and I find this is where the frustration is. If they only accept manufacturer then that is fine, but please don't list those separately as store coupons and get everyone on the same page because email customer service is saying something different.

If you have been able to use the Rite-Aid, CVS, Kohl's or Walgreens coupons at Wal-Mart will you please let me know so I have that information for my next conversation with Wal-Mart?
