I'm Here

or not so much.  I'd like to give an update or reason for my absence.  We had sewer problems over the weekend which required pulling back carpet, dimpled mat and removing plywood to reach the drain. This also required disconnecting our PCs. As are result my only access to a computer is my husband's laptop which he needs to for school, plus I'm just don't acclimate well to it.

Things should be hooked back up by next week and with it a new Giant Eagle Ad.  Let me tell you I about went crazy when I saw some of the endcaps being prepared for tomorrow and not knowing what the deals were, especially the large Eight O'Clock Coffee since I've become a coffee drinker withing the last few months.  I do know now after getting a chance to log on it's now a BOGOF or Half Off! There are $2/2 IPs on Eight O'Clock's website which you probably already know. ;)

I hope you have a wonderful week of shopping and a wonderful week in general.

Easy Stockup Price Formula for TP!

I am excited to share this Deal Seeking Mom post! I even checked out the formula on previous purchases and it works well. Now I normally try to get TP free with ECB or with RA's $5 from $5/25, but I don't have much of a stockpile using that method with 6 people in the house about 6 months worth is the largest I've had which isn't comforting should something happen.  Beth's method shared by Tara would be beneficial to get that initial stockpile up to par then use my current method to keep it going.  You want me to stop chattering and share the method now don't you? Here it is:

Total SqF/100 (two decimals over)=Stock Up Price
e.g. 474.5 SqFt/100=$4.745
If the sale price - any coupons makes that pack $4.75 or less it's a good price to stock up!

This formula eliminates the need to figure out exactly what is a "single", "double", "mega" roll because we all know not all singles, or doubles or megas are created equal.

Topsy Turvy Planter ™

Topsy Turvy Planter ™ | Country Store Catalog

One of my favorite bloggers shared this with her readers, but when I went to the sight and read the reviews I became disappointed. Then I got to looking at the product and thinking why couldn't this be made for much less. The first idea that popped into my head was a empty two liter bottle=FREE. It could be decorated nicely if you didn't want to see the dirt. A wrap around the bottle might serve as protection too from too much sun. I'm just thinking aloud here. I believe I will do some research on this and if I find anything interesting I will share.

Have any of you tried doing this yourselves or used this or other "topsy turvy" planters? I would love to here from you!

I did find substitutes and here is a list of 10 different ways.

I'm adding a coupons.com scroll bar to my blog so you can print directly from my blog. It will be seen in the right hand side.
Obviously I was trying to add it to the end of each post, but I can't seem to get the right banner no matter how many times I try adding the correct code.  I apologize for the extra mail and hope to rectify it soon.

Also be on the lookout for single coupon banner that will allow you to print the exact coupon I mention without having to scroll through all the coupons at coupons.com

Dollar General

Monday, March 01, 2010 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
The Dollar General is now offering Store Coupons. I have not used any yet, but I assume you can combined those with manufacturer coupons like you can at the drugstores.  Thanks to Money Saving Madness you can see what the coupon sheet looks like before heading to your store to find it. The sheet is only a sample not to print as far as I know.

Considering a Name Change

Please help me decide.  I think this poll is more enjoyable and easier to understand. Then you never know with me and my spinning brain.

Thank you to everyone that voted on the blog preference. I may keep both for awhile until I can work out some of the kinks with WP and figure out how to add buttons so I can keep my signature link at Hot Coupon World.

New Posts Soon

Tomorrow I will be back in the saddle. I didn't do any shopping so no deals to share and this past weekend I was preparing to go out of town and went out of town. Today, I'm exhausted.  The driving wasn't bad as I anticipated, 3.5hrs, but I didn't sleep well the night before I left or the night in the hotel.  Totally worth it to finally meet Linda after becoming online friends, best friends, starting 4yrs ago.

I didn't do a fabulous job of saving, but I'll share what I did save on the hotel and the bargains I found shopping in Florence, KY.

I do want to share the Meijer ad and deals today by Nickels-n-Dimes. I think my foggy brain can handle that much. lol  Also only a little snippet of Giant Eagle's Ad was shared yesterday so no worries there in getting a head start of what coupons are needed.  I will share that link today too and then the scenarios will come tomorrow to get you ready for Thursday-Wednesday.

Have a beautiful day!

*Update, it seems more than a snippet is now posted for GE. :)

Blog Questions for You

Thursday, January 28, 2010 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
Update: I've decided to try my hand at creating poll to make it easy for you to share your opinion. The first one is done and then I will add more if this works out well. I'm leaving my questions up below as a guideline for me or if you'd rather share that way. Thank you!

First, I want to thank everyone that is a follower or checks out my blog behind the scenes. It makes my day knowing when I've helped you and your families.  Now, I would like to ask if you could help me make my blog better.  I have a few questions, but please if you think of anything else please share.

Giant Eagle Listings:

Do you prefer me to only publish the Scenario post once even though I make updates to it ?

Do you prefer I republish the Scenario post, so it goes to the top of the blog and into your inbox, when I make updates?

Do you prefer the math shown for all coupons for that one item?

Do you prefer just the one most likely available for that one item?

General Blog Appearance:

Is the theme background distracting?

Do you prefer a pale color background or white?

Is the font too small?

Is the font too large?

Easy to navigate to your interests or hard to navigate?

Would ads bother you? Not likely? Likely? Totally?

Topics you like best now?

Topics for the future?

I'd so appreciate any and all opinions. I am considering a different location with a slightly different layout. I'm hoping for better features and less trouble with the format.
You may have notice weird spacing and font sizes too.  Honestly, this is not my intentional doing. lol  It looks completely sane, well for me, in the creating section and  then Wham, it goes kaplooey once it posts, Come On! lol

Christmas at Drugstore.com

Thursday, December 17, 2009 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
Who would have thought to find a toy for Christmas at drugstore.com and at a great deal at that. Not me! That's just what happened though and I'm so excited to share! LOL

I was slightly stressed about on what should I spend another $10  to get the free shipping. If I just purchased the Marshmallow Shooter I'd have to spend another $5-$6 on shipping.  I don't think so, but what oh what to buy, that was the big question.

Also looming was getting it ordered tonight and at a decent hour. My husband requested I do so even though I had 2 days left according to their shipping calendar.  Due to being a world renowned procrastinator heaped with a side of indecisiveness, my old self would have waited and would not have been submissive to his wish. Gasp! 20 yrs later and I think I'm getting the hang of it even if it seems like a small step. lol

Enough with our relationship and my attempt to heed that Biblical principle, onto the deal! Which, by the way, I like to think God rewarded me rather quickly with this idea for the "filler" and my order was placed by 9pm.

Marshmallow Shooter   $14.99= One very happy daughter
Olay Quench 20oz        $11.99
Shipping                       FREE
Total                          $26.98 OOP
Olay Rebate              - $11.99
ShopAtHome 8%        -$ 2.16
Drugstore $               -$ 1.35
New Total                   $11.48 ! = One Very Happy Me

Snowman Cake

Saturday, December 12, 2009 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »

Just thought I'd share the cake my daughter made.  She used the can buttercream icing which is a challenge to pipe, but I think it turned out quite cute. The snowman she used her marshmallow fondant recipe .  She wasn't thrilled with the finished project, but it was just for us and it was very good.
